Malcolm Young

After reading Modern History at Oxford University, followed by a PGCE there, Malcolm taught History up to Oxbridge entrance in the U.K. for six years before moving to London to qualify as an EFL teacher. His EFL career has led to teaching and academic management posts with various organisations, both in the U.K. and overseas, including the British Council and Bell UK, in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia, plus Apollo Hanoi and Language Link in London and Hanoi.

He holds the DELTA and a Masters in TEFL, with extensive experience in teaching Business and Academic English, and has examined for a range of Cambridge international exams since the 1980s.

At school and university he participated actively in sport, particularly rugby, basketball and tennis, followed by coaching all three sports at senior school level and then a more leisurely spectator interest, maintained until today.  In his free time, besides looking after Suki, the family Dachshund, he has a layman’s interest in historical architecture, art and music, perhaps relaxing most happily in the evening with Italian opera and a glass of red wine, which invariably also accompanies dining both at home and outside when exploring new cuisines.
